GRAIN SILOS
We have lots of grain silos around here and I had thought about the same thing. Grain silos allow you to have instant storage for any material that needs to be water-proof. The historic vernacular of tall white grain silos that line the corridor and dominate the skyline were found comforting and beautiful to the surrounding fabric.
Some are concealed within grain silos or attached to street lights and chimneys. Their echo chamber was one of those forty foot aluminum grain silos with a loudspeaker in the top of it. There aren’t many programmes for aluminum grain silos. A lift to all floors has been concealed in a shaft designed to look like one of the original grain silos. The old farm gates and grain silos still remain as visible reminders of the substantial cellars that once stood proud on the property.
