HOPPER
hopper bottom bins/silos can store any flowable commodity from feed, seed and plastic pellets to certain mineral supplements. As forage is unloaded from the wagon into the silo blower hopper, it is moved by auger or conveyor to the blower fan which forces it into the silo.
Because of that, a comparison of manufacturing costs of different hopper forms and hopper materials is possible. A conical hopper is terminated by the outlet.
Arching Formation of an arch, bridge or dome in the stored solids over the silo outlet, usually in the hopper. The silo bottom may be a hopper or a flat bottom.
